(USI), a leading manufacturer of high-performance ultrasonic spray coating equipment for electronics assembly, medical, fuel cell, semiconductor and solar applications announces the release of the PRISM-500 product line configured with new options for the application of conformal coatings to printed circuit boards. A teach camera and an offline programming tool have been developed to increase the ease of creating coating recipes. The teach camera option is fully integrated with the Prism graphical user interface for seamless programming and process verification.
USI’s unique and proprietary nozzle-less ultrasonic spray technology is ideal for the thin and uniform application of a variety of conformal coatings. In addition to ultrasonic spray head technology, USI offers a variety of coating applicators including Micro-Line Digital Dispensing Valve, Dual-Mode Spray Valve and Dispensing Valve.

The PMP overcomes the limitations of traditional pressurized liquid delivery systems associated with liquid viscosity changes due to changing ambient conditions. The PMP delivers superior process control because the liquid flow rate is controlled by the precision movement of a piston in the pump cylinder preventing flow rate drift due to viscosity changes. The Prism software keeps track of the exact amount of coating used for each coating recipe and stores this data to a log file.

Haverhill, Massachusetts, September 5, 2012 – Ultrasonic Systems, Inc. (USI), the leading manufacturer of high-performance ultrasonic spray coating equipment, announces the introduction of the Prism BT Benchtop system to its line of precision spray coating products.
The Prism BT Benchtop leverages USI’s proprietary, nozzle-less ultrasonic spray head technology for the thin, uniform application of a variety of coatings, inks and suspensions used in the fuel cell, display, medical device, printed circuit board electronics assembly and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Designed for lab scale and research and development coating requirements, the Prism BT Benchtop system features a programmable X-Y-Z gantry and usable spray area of up to 400mm x 400mm. Liquid delivery system options include USI’s Precision Metering Pump with servo motor liquid flow control and integrated liquid stirring, a research grade syringe pump and pressurized reservoirs of various sizes. Other system options include a substrate heater with vacuum hold and 90 degree pneumatic spray head rotation.
