AIR-ATOMIZING SPRAY VALVE

Air-Atomizing Spray Valve

The air-atomizing spray valve is used primarily for the application of silicone based coatings.  The spray valve has two modes of operation 1) spray mode - air is used to atomize the coating to form a spray 2) bead mode - the coating is dispense in a line or dot.

Air-Atomizing Spray Technology

  • Designed for silicone coatings
  • Stainless steel valve body and nozzles
  • Orifice sizes to match flow requirements
  • Air caps to match requirements

Dual-Mode Operation

  • Spray Mode
  • Bead Mode

Applicator for Prism Coating System

  • Integral with Prism Software
  • Software control for all set-points

The spray valve is a normally closed, needle-in-seat, double-acting, air-actuated piston with spring return mechanism using a three-way high-speed solenoid valve.  A double-acting actuator mechanism is used to deliver precise liquid flow through the seat at the tip of the valve.  The atomizing air-solenoid valve directs a regulated stream into the atomizing air-port when the valve is operating in spray mode.

Spray Mode - The spray valve produces a conical spray when the needle is retracted and airflow is directed through the atomizing air-port.  The spray pattern produced is dependent upon the combination of orifice size and air cap installed on the spray valve tip.

Bead Mode - The spray valve dispenses a bead of coating when the needle is retracted and no airflow is directed through the air-atomizing air-port.
