The Prism Spray Coating System is a revolutionary programmable spray coating system that delivers precise application of coating to a substrate. The system features USI's patented Ultra-Spray ultrasonic technology, which utilizes ultrasonic energy to atomize the coating and a low-pressure directed air stream to shape and focus the pattern. Ultra-Spray technology provides a more precise, thinner coating application than conventional spray nozzles and dispensing technologies.
The Prism Advantage:
• Ultra-Spray Ultrasonic Coating Technology • Windows XP graphical user interface • Multi-axis PCI motion control system • Robust stainless steel pin chain conveyor • Welded steel system frame • X-Y-Z-θ motion control system
Robust Precision Platform:
• Precision ball screw linear actuators • Digital AC closed loop servo drive motors • Custom designed Z-stage with optional rotation • Stainless steel pin chain conveyor • Welded steel system frame
Ultra-Spray Ultrasonic Coating Technology
Ultra-Spray Technology:
• Virtually Eliminates Masking 3 to 10 mm pattern width Excellent edge tolerance Precise start / stop
• Applies Thin, Defect-Free Coating 6 to 125 microns wet thickness No bubbles or pin holes Excellent uniformity
• Numerous Applications Conformal Coating for Electronics Assembly Semiconductor Coating Fuel Cell Coating Medical Coating Solar Cell Coating And more...
PRISM Spray Coating System Software
The Prism Spray Coating System is programmed using USI's Ultra-Coat™ software. This proprietary software is supplied with the system on a PC that uses a Windows 2000/XP operating system. The PC contains a multi-axis PCI motion drive system that controls the X-Y-Z-θ gantry.
The Ultra-Coat software consists of a graphical user interface (GUI) that allows the user to operate all functions of the Prism including calibration and setup, manual control, diagnostics, creating and editing process programs for selective coating of printed circuit assemblies and general operation of the Prism Spray Coating System.
The creation of a process program is achieved with either of the following two methods:
Teach Mode - a laser pointer mounted to the X-Y-Z gantry, is used to select the areas to be coated. The operator uses a track ball move the laser pointer to the selected area on the printed circuit board and then selects coating commands from the GUI menu. Commands include, coating lines, fills, arcs and circles. An editable spreadsheet is produced that defines the entire coating program. The position, speed, height, liquid flow rate, airflow rate, and other parameters are defined on each line of the program. The process program is easily editable and recurring sections can be reproduced using cut & paste and step & repeat functions.
Offline Programming - the user creates the editable spreadsheet coating program using a simulated teach mode with a digital image of the circuit board. The same procedure is used in the offline programming mode as with the teach mode.
