Ultrasonic Systems Receives Patent for Nozzle-less CAT ILDS Series of Ultrasonic Spray Heads

Haverhill, MA – Ultrasonic Systems, Inc. has been awarded a patent for their CAT ILDS series of nozzle-less ultrasonic spray heads by the United States Patent and Trade Office.

Ultrasonic Systems, Inc. (USI), the leading manufacturer of high-performance ultrasonic spray coating equipment for solar, fuel cell, medical, and semiconductor applications, has been awarded a patent for their CAT ILDS series of nozzle-less ultrasonic spray heads by the United States Patent and Trade Office. The CAT ILDS spray head is an integral part of USI’s versatile Prism spray coating machine, optimized for the thin, uniform application of a variety of low viscosity materials.

The CAT ILDS nozzle-less ultrasonic spray head features a coating pattern range of 3mm to 25mm, and is available in 35 kHz or 60 kHz frequencies, depending on the viscosity of the liquid. The CAT ILDS can handle a variety of coating liquids, including fuel cell coatings, conductive inks, fluxes, photoresists, dopants, and conformal coatings, as well as other proprietary liquids. All process parameters such as liquid flow rate, air pressure, the height and speed of the CAT ILDS head are set electronically for maximum control and flexibility.

“USI is honored to announce its newest patent for the CAT ILDS series of spray heads”, said Stuart Erickson, President of Ultrasonic Systems. “Our engineering team is constantly improving our technology, especially regarding the spray heads, so our customers can benefit from the most accurate and efficient coating equipment available.”

Ultrasonic Systems Installs Prism System for Photoresist Spray Application

Haverhill, MA – Ultrasonic Systems, Inc. announces the recent sale of a Prism coating system for the application of photoresist.

Ultrasonic Systems, Inc. (USI), the leading manufacturer of high-performance ultrasonic spray coating equipment for solar, fuel cell, medical, and semiconductor applications, announces the recent sale of a Prism coating system for the application of photoresist. The Southern California-based customer requirements are to deposit a 0.6µm film of a photoresist on a curved optical lens device. Conventional spin coating technology was proven to be an ineffective method of applying the photoresist due to the lens’ shape and unique surface topography.

The Prism system, featuring USI’s proprietary nozzle-less ultrasonic spray head technology, is a fully programmable X-Y-Z coating system, for the thin, uniform application of photoresists, as well as polyimides, photoimagable soldermasks, conductive inks, and other proprietary low viscosity coatings. Available in batch configuration or with an in-line conveyor, the Prism is ideal for a variety of applications, including semiconductor wafers, MEMS, and glass panels.

“Our Prism systems are field-proven to reliably provide precise spray coating for a growing number of applications”, said Stuart Erickson, President of Ultrasonic Systems. “We’re pleased to once again provide a precision coating solution for a customer with unique process requirements.”
